This patch removes size policies and preferred sizes, and replaces them
with min-size and max-size for each widget.
Box layout now works in 3 passes:
1) Set all items (widgets/spacers) to their min-size
2) Distribute remaining space evenly, respecting max-size
3) Place widgets one after the other, adding spacing in between
I've also added convenience helpers for setting a fixed size (which is
the same as setting min-size and max-size to the same value.)
This significantly reduces the verbosity of widget layout and makes GML
a bit more pleasant to write, too. :^)
Store a PixelPaint project in a .pp file (as there doesn't seem to
be any real standard on this). It's a very simple json file that
contains the bitmap as a base64 encoded bmp.
The most used feature of any image editor, undo. Each tool now
notifies the ImageEditor that they completed an action, where
it'll take a snapshot if its current state.
For now, a snapshot is just a copy of the whole image and its
layers. There's a hard limit on the amount of actions it stores.
Each tool can have its own set of properties that can be modified
through a panel on the right side.
The tools I've added properties for are:
Pen:
Thickness
Brush:
Size
Hardness
Spray:
Thickness
Density
Bucket:
Threshold
By allowing to specify a separate source bitmap when calling Filter::apply
the same filter can be applied to multiple areas, and also doesn't need
to use a temporary bitmap. This also enables us to apply the filter to
multiple regions properly, even if they are (almost) adjacent.
If no separate source bitmap is supplied then a temporary bitmap is still
necessary.
By moving the Bitmap and Rect out of Filter::Parameters we can re-use
the parameters more efficiently, allowing the filter to be applied
to many bitmaps without having to re-create the filter every time.
Since the vast majority of message boxes should be modal, require
the parent window to be passed in, which can be nullptr for the
rare case that they don't. By it being the first argument, the
default arguments also don't need to be explicitly stated in most
cases, and it encourages passing in a parent window handle.
Fix up several message boxes that should have been modal.
During app teardown, the Application object may be destroyed before
something else, and so having Application::the() return a reference was
obscuring the truth about its lifetime.
This patch makes the API more honest by returning a pointer. While
this makes call sites look a bit more sketchy, do note that the global
Application pointer only becomes null during app teardown.
Instead of using a TableView to show the layer stack, let's build a new
custom widget for this purpose and give it some neat features!
This patch also introduces an ImageClient interface for Image to notify
interested parties about things happening. The LayerListWidget is the
first ImageClient and listens for "layer added" and "layer removed"
notifications. :^)
