Window and other global objects are not technically legacy platform
objects, and have other ways to override their setters and getters.
However, Window does need to share some code with the legacy platform
object paths, and simply adding another bool check to the mix seems
the shortest putt.
We have two known PlatformObjects that need to implement some of the
behavior of LegacyPlatformObjects to date: Window, and HTMLFormElement.
To make this not require double (or virtual) inheritance of
PlatformObject, move the behavior of LegacyPlatformObject into
PlatformObject. The selection of LegacyPlatformObject behavior is done
with a new bitfield of feature flags instead of a dozen virtual
functions that return bool. This change simplifies every class involved
in the diff with the notable exception of Window, which now needs some
ugly const casts to implement named property access.
Ultimately, this API should probably be replaced with something that
updates a cache on relevant DOM mutations instead of regenerating
the list of property names again and again.
Use a LocalSocket to represent the connection between two message ports.
The concept of the port message queue is still missing, however. When
that concept is implemented, the "steps" in step 7 of the message port
transfer steps will need to send the serialized data over the connected
socketpair and run in the event loop of the process that holds onto the
other side of the message port. Doing this should allow centralizing the
behavior of postMessage for Window, MessagePorts and Workers.
This commit un-deprecates DeprecatedString, and repurposes it as a byte
string.
As the null state has already been removed, there are no other
particularly hairy blockers in repurposing this type as a byte string
(what it _really_ is).

With this change, Document now always has a Web::Page. This means we no
longer rely on the breakable link between Document and BrowsingContext
to find a relevant Web::Page.

First, we had a logic typo where we were checking parse errors for
non-empty instead of non-null. Fixing this caused more modules to
actually start executing.
As usual, this tripped on some "empty backup incumbent settings object
stack" bugs, so this patch also pushes a module execution context in
two places where it makes sense.

I'm not entirely sure why this is needed, but it's the same ol'
workaround we're using in a bazillion places where we get caught trying
to do JavaScripty things without a running execution context.
In particular, this patch focuses on:
- Updating the old "import assertions" to the new "import attributes"
- Allowing realms as module import referrer
This allows them to participate in the ownership graph and fixes a
lifetime issue in module loading found by ASAN.

Instead of allocating these in a mixture of ways, we now always put
them on the malloc heap, and keep an intrusive linked list of them
that we can iterate for GC marking purposes.
Most DOM nodes don't have registered mutation observers, so let's put
the metadata about them behind an OwnPtr to save space in the common
case.
Saves 16 bytes per DOM node that doesn't have registered observers.
With this change, we now have ~1200 CellAllocators across both LibJS and
LibWeb in a normal WebContent instance.
This gives us a minimum heap size of 4.7 MiB in the scenario where we
only have one cell allocated per type. Of course, in practice there will
be many more of each type, so the effective overhead is quite a bit
smaller than that in practice.
I left a few types unconverted to this mechanism because I got tired of
doing this. :^)
We don't have a 'root execution environment' anymore (thankfully), so
we can make sure that the ESO the HostDefined object holds onto is a
NonnullGCPtr.
This patch makes it possible for JS::Object::internal_set() to populate
a CacheablePropertyMetadata, and uses this to implement a basic
monomorphic cache for the most common form of property write access.
This required dealing with a *lot* of fallout, but it's all basically
just switching from DeprecatedFlyString to either FlyString or
Optional<FlyString> in a hundred places to accommodate the change.
This patch updates various parts of the script fetching implementation
to match the current specification.
Notably, the implementation of changes to the import assertions /
attributes proposal are not part of this patch(series).
These functions all have a very common case that can be dealt with a
very simple inline check, often avoiding the need to call an out-of-line
function. This patch moves the common case to inline functions in a new
ValueInlines.h header (necessary due to header dependency issues..)
8% speed-up on the entire Kraken benchmark :^)
This function must return true if the object may intercept and customize
access to indexed properties (properties where the property name is a
non-negative integer.)
This will be used to implement fast path optimizations for array-like
accesses in subsequent commits.
Using JS::Handle in WebEngineCustomData means that mutation observers
will live as long as VM while actually they should be deallocated as
soon as they are no longer used in a script that created them.
And implement WindowProperties, the "named properties object" for Window
according to the spec.
This involves moving an AO out of LegacyPlatformObject and into a common
place that the WindowProperties class can access.
This doesn't implement the AOs on Window that actually name lookup for
the unenumerable named properties on the window yet, just the
scaffolding.
This allows us to get rid of property_table_ordered() which was a
heavy-handed way of iterating properties in insertion order by first
copying them to a sorted Vector.
Clients can now simply iterate property_table() directly.
3% speed-up on Kraken/ai-astar.js :^)
Stop worrying about tiny OOMs. Work towards #20449.
While going through these, I also changed the function signature in many
places where returning ThrowCompletionOr<T> is no longer necessary.
I found myself needing to call this method when attempting to implement
Blob::text and Blob::array_buffer. Turns out that the only caller
outside of the Detail namespace already had a FIXME to make this a
public API - so let's do that.
Some of these are allocated upon initialization of the intrinsics, and
some lazily, but in neither case the getters actually return a nullptr.
This saves us a whole bunch of pointer dereferences (as NonnullGCPtr has
an `operator T&()`), and also has the interesting side effect of forcing
us to explicitly use the FunctionObject& overload of call(), as passing
a NonnullGCPtr is ambigous - it could implicitly be turned into a Value
_or_ a FunctionObject& (so we have to dereference manually).
