This adds the necessary code to init.cpp to be able to execute the first
userspace process. To do this, first the filesystem code is initialized,
which will use the ramdisk embedded into the kernel image. Then the
first userspace process, /bin/SystemServer is executed. :^)
The ramdisk code is used as it is useful for the bring-up of the aarch64
port, however once the kernel has support for better ram-based
filesystems, the ramdisk code will be removed again.
The handling of page tables is very architecture specific, so belongs
in the Arch directory. Some parts were already architecture-specific,
however this commit moves the rest of the PageDirectory class into the
Arch directory.
While we're here the aarch64/PageDirectory.{h,cpp} files are updated to
be aarch64 specific, by renaming some members and removing x86_64
specific code.
This sets up the RPi::Timer to trigger an interurpt every 4ms using one
of the comparators. The actual time is calculated by looking at the main
counter of the RPi::Timer using the Timer::update_time function.
A stub for Scheduler::timer_tick is also added, since the TimeManagement
code now calls the function.
This makes it easier to differentiate between cases where certain
functionality is not implemented vs. cases where a code location
should really be unreachable.
Now that the Spinlock code is not dependent on architectural specific
code anymore, we can move it back to the Locking folder. This also means
that the Spinlock implemenation is now used for the aarch64 kernel.
Until now, our kernel has reimplemented a number of AK classes to
provide automatic internal locking:
- RefPtr
- NonnullRefPtr
- WeakPtr
- Weakable
This patch renames the Kernel classes so that they can coexist with
the original AK classes:
- RefPtr => LockRefPtr
- NonnullRefPtr => NonnullLockRefPtr
- WeakPtr => LockWeakPtr
- Weakable => LockWeakable
The goal here is to eventually get rid of the Lock* classes in favor of
using external locking.
These 2 classes currently contain much code that is x86(_64) specific.
Move them to the architecture specific directory. This also allows for a
simpler implementation for aarch64.
This requires us to add an Interrupts.h file in the Kernel/Arch
directory, which includes the architecture specific files.
The commit also stubs out the functions to be able to compile the
aarch64 Kernel.
This allows us to use the AK formatting functions in the aarch64 Kernel.
Also add FIXME to make sure that this file will be removed when the
proper abstractions are in place in the normal Kernel/kprintf.cpp.
